A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door.The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push. "Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3:00 in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed.
"Who was that?" asked his wife. "Just some drunk guy asking for a push," he answers. "Did you help him?" she asks. "No, I did not, it’s 3am in the morning and it’s well pouring with rain out there!" "Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can’t you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!
"God loves drunk people too you know."
The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out
into the pounding rain.
He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?"
"Yes," comes back the answer.
"Do you still need a push?" calls out the husband.
"Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark.
"Where are you?" asks the husband.
"Over here on the swing," replied the drunk.
一个男人和他的妻子半夜3点时被一阵敲门声吵醒。这个男人爬起来，来到门口发现是一个陌生的醉汉，站在瓢泼大雨中，请求帮他一把。（Asking for a push）“没门！”这个男人说：“现在是凌晨3点！”说完把门一摔，又回到床上睡觉了。“刚才是谁呀？”他的妻子问道。“只是个醉汉，想让我吧。”他回答说。“那你帮他了吗？”她又问。“没有，现在是夜里3点钟，外面又下着瓢泼大雨。”“噢，你的记忆可真短暂。”他的妻子说：“难道你忘了三个月前我们遭遇了事故，有两个好心人帮助了我们？我认为你应该帮助他，并且你应该为自己感到羞耻！你知道上帝同样关爱喝醉了的人。”听了妻子的话，这个男人穿好衣服，来到门外的大雨中。他向黑暗中喊道：“喂，你还在吗？”“是的”醉汉回答到。“你还需要push吗？”这个男人喊道。“是的，需要！”醉汉在黑暗中回答到。“那你在哪里呢？”这个男人问。“我就在这个秋千上。”醉汉回答道。
（敢情真的是要别人push他一把呀。）
