The book that has had the deepest impact on me is "Fortress Besieged". This book humorously depicts the various jokes and tragedies of the lives of Chinese intellectuals in the first half of the 20th century, especially the puzzle of seeking personal freedom and beliefs under the national and social background. After reading this book, I couldn't help but sigh: it turned out that the truth of living a serious life was so simple, but why do we always choose or be forced to go in the opposite direction? As Lao She said, is it because we are helpless and unable to break free from this "seemingly bright but actually dim" sky?
Through "Fortress Besieged", I also realized the charm and value of the novel as an art form. As a highly fictional literary genre, the novel can shape its plot, characters, and language in a well-structured way to provide readers with a deeper reading experience and better reflect on and expose problems and contradictions in society.
If "Fortress Besieged" is a masterpiece that reveals the skin of human nature, then it must also be an important work that explores social reality, bringing people intellectual enlightenment and spiritual satisfaction. This book has shown me the pursuit and exploration of a better life and strengthened my determination to believe in myself and strive forward.
